The Division of Clinical Biochemistry provides qualitative and quantitative analysis of biological fluids such as blood, serum or plasma or urine for specific chemical constituents or physiologic processes. Physicians use these test results to screen for, diagnose, or monitor disease.

The Clinical Chemistry department provide routine analyses relying heavily on the state of the art automated random access analyser

(Roche Integra 400 plus- Germany) with multiple methodologies. A few manual assays and urinalyses are also performed. Certain hormone assays, selected enzyme activity assays, serum tumor markers, various hepatitis tests, special fluid chemistries, glycosylated hemoglobin, as well as various infrequently ordered EIA and manual procedures are also provided.
